Keks: Igrosoft's raid on the cake shop

A bakery full of temptation

Keks is the word for cake in several Eastern European languages, which tells you most of what you need to know about the theme. Igrosoft fills the reels with iced buns, tarts, gateaux and pastries, and puts a mischievous little character at the centre of it all, more interested in eating the stock than guarding it. Like the studio's other hall classics, it is drawn in a bright cartoon style with plenty of small animations.

The game uses the layout shared across the range: five reels, three rows and lines that you switch on from the panel, with the main character standing in as the wild. The fancier cakes pay more than the plain biscuits, which you'll pick up within a few dozen spins.

Picking your cake

Bonus symbols on an active line send you to a picking round where the cakes themselves hide the prizes. Choose one and it reveals a reward or ends the round; keep going and you may reach a final choice for a bigger prize. As always with this format, nothing you do changes the odds, but the anticipation is part of the appeal.

The gamble and how to treat it

After a win, the card game offers to double it: the dealer shows a card and you choose one of four hidden ones. It's a straight coin-flip style decision, so in the demo it's worth seeing how many times in a row you can realistically expect it to work.

Keks free play in practice

The Keks demo gives you 1,000 virtual credits and needs no registration. Play all lines at a stake equivalent to £0.45 for 150 spins, gamble off, and note how often the cakes appear. Then compare with a session where you gamble small wins. It works on mobile as well as desktop, and the same slot is available for real money at the casinos below.
