Crazy Monkey: the rope game that made Igrosoft famous

A slot from the arcade halls

Long before mobile casinos, Crazy Monkey was a fixture of the gaming halls of Eastern Europe, and the Igrosoft cabinet with its cartoon monkey is still what many players picture when they hear the word slot. The online version keeps the look almost untouched: chunky pixel-style graphics, bright jungle colours and sound effects that belong to another decade.

The layout is five reels and three rows, with the number of active lines chosen from the panel. Fruit, pineapples, snakes and the monkey himself fill the reels, and the monkey acts as the wild.

How the rope bonus works

The reason people still search for the Crazy Monkey slot is its bonus. Land enough bonus symbols on an active line and the screen switches to a scene with ropes hanging from the trees. You choose a rope, the monkey pulls it and something drops: usually fruit worth a prize, occasionally a heavy object that ends the round. Survive the ropes and a final choice can add a larger reward.

It is entirely luck, of course, but the pick-and-reveal format gives the round a rhythm that a modern free spins counter doesn't have.

The card gamble

After any line win you can take the risk game. The dealer turns up a card and you choose one of four face-down cards; a higher card doubles the win, a lower one loses it. Many players use it far too often. In the demo, try it on small wins only and note how quickly a streak can end.

Getting the most from Crazy Monkey free play

The demo starts with 1,000 virtual credits and needs no download or account. Set all lines active at a modest stake, something like £0.45, and play 150 spins without touching the gamble. Count how many spins it takes to reach the rope scene, then play a second session using the gamble on every win and compare the balance. When you are done, the same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
