Purple Galaxy: a classic 20-line slot with a cat in a spacesuit

Not every slot needs a dozen mechanics. Purple Galaxy is a straightforward five-reel game with a cheerful purple cat in a white-and-gold spacesuit waving from the poster, and it does the basics cleanly: a wild, a scatter, free spins with a fixed multiplier. That makes it a good place to start if you are new to free slots, and a pleasant one to come back to. The demo on this page lets you play Purple Galaxy free with virtual credits, no download and no sign-up.

Reels, lines and symbols

The layout is 5 reels by 3 rows with 20 fixed paylines. Wins pay from left to right on neighbouring reels, starting from the first, and only the best win on each line counts, although wins on different lines add together. The top symbols have a space theme: the Golden Comet pays the most, followed by the Ringed Planet, the Alien Crystal and the Astro Helmet. Below them sit the familiar card ranks from Ace down to 10, which land more often and pay less.

The Black Hole wild

The wild is a swirling Black Hole. It replaces every symbol except the Supernova scatter, and it also pays on its own: three, four or five Black Holes on a line form their own win, and five of them is the richest line in the game. When a line could pay either as wilds alone or as a substituted symbol, the game takes whichever is higher, so you never lose out on the choice.

Supernova and the doubled free spins

The Supernova is the scatter. It pays anywhere on the reels, two, ten or fifty times the total bet for three, four or five, and three or more trigger 10 free spins. During the feature every win is doubled, and landing three more Supernovas adds another ten spins. There is no bonus buy; the feature only arrives the traditional way. The total win of a spin, free spins included, is capped at 5,000× the total bet.

How to approach the demo

Because the game is simple, the useful thing to learn is its rhythm. Set a stake, say 20p per spin, and play a hundred spins on Turbo while keeping a rough tally of how often a Supernova pair appears and how often the third one follows. Look at the paytable, which shows values for your current bet, so you can see exactly what a five-Comet line would pay. Then use Autospin with the option to stop when free spins start and watch the feature in full each time. On desktop the shortcuts help: Space spins, T toggles turbo, A starts autospin, M mutes and I opens the paytable.

Purple Galaxy is a Nocturn Play slot and looks just as tidy on a phone as on a monitor. Demo credits have no cash value and past spins tell you nothing about the next one. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
