Peking Luck: behind the painted fan

Only her eyes show above the fan. The woman on the Peking Luck title screen wears a jewelled headdress and a large pink peony, and the rest of the scene is all deep purple, swirling cloud patterns and plum blossom. Compared with the gold-and-red bustle of most Chinese-themed slots, Pragmatic Play went for something quieter and more refined here.

About the rules

Peking Luck is a slightly older title, and accounts of its features vary, so we would rather point you to the source than repeat second-hand details. The paytable in the demo lists the grid, the paylines, the wild and scatter symbols and how the bonus works. Read it before you start: knowing which symbols are premium on a themed game like this saves a lot of guesswork.

Who will like it

The Peking Luck slot is for players who care about atmosphere. The artwork is detailed, the colours are rich without being garish and the soundtrack is calm. If you find many modern slots too loud, this is a restful alternative.

Play Peking Luck free: a sensible session

The demo provides 1,000 virtual credits and asks for no account or download. Play 150 spins at a small stake, around 20p, and keep a note each time a feature triggers. After that, look back: did the balance drift slowly, or did it move in sudden jumps? That is the clearest sign of how the game behaves. If you want to see a bigger stake in action, do it for a short spell only. The game plays well on a tablet in landscape.

Take a moment, too, to switch between portrait and landscape on your phone. The artwork is the main draw here, and some players find the wider view does the painted backgrounds far more justice.
