Mustang Gold: chasing golden horses across the prairie

Gold horse heads are the reason people come back to Mustang Gold. Each one lands with a value stamped on it, and the whole game is tuned towards getting enough of them on screen at once. The backdrop is a dusty western canyon at golden hour; the regular symbols are cowboy-country fare, with the mustang itself among the top payers.

Money symbols and the Money Respin

Pragmatic Play uses a money-collect mechanic here that it later reused across many titles. The golden horse heads carry either a cash amount or a jackpot label. Land enough of them in a single spin and the Money Respin begins: the heads lock in place, the rest of the grid spins again, and every new head that drops resets the respin counter. The round ends when the respins run out with nothing new landing, and then everything on the board is added up. Filling the whole grid is the dream scenario, and it is rare by design.

Free spins

Scatters trigger a separate free spins round, where the regular line game carries on without cost to your balance. It is worth seeing both features in the demo, because they feel quite different: free spins are steady, the Money Respin is all about tension, one reset at a time.

Getting the most from Mustang Gold free play

With 1,000 virtual credits and no sign-up, you can afford a proper sample. Try 200 spins at a fixed small stake, around 25p a spin, and note how many horse heads tend to appear before the respin finally kicks in. You will notice that five heads on screen happens far more often than the trigger itself; that is normal and useful to know before you play with your own money. On a phone, turn the device sideways for a wider view of the board.
