White King: a white lion holds court on the reels

Royalty of the animal kingdom

Plenty of slots feature lions; Playtech's White King gives the idea a regal treatment. The white lion wears a crown and rules over a court of jungle animals, set against a backdrop that looks part savanna, part throne room. The colours are pale golds and creams, which makes it stand out next to the usual orange-sunset safari games.

How the game plays

White King is a five-reel line slot with a fairly generous number of paylines. Symbols can land in stacks, so a reel can fill with the same animal and connect several lines at once. The White King himself is central to the wild, and his appearances are what turn ordinary spins into good ones.

A scatter symbol leads into the free spins, where the royal wild plays a stronger part. As with most Playtech games, the precise rules, including how many free spins you get and what changes in the round, are set out in the paytable.

The demo gives you 1,000 virtual credits, without download or registration. Some useful things to watch:

• Play 200 to 250 spins at a stake equivalent to £0.40, which covers all lines at a small coin size.
• Notice when stacks line up across the first three reels: those are the spins that pay.
• Count the free spins rounds and compare the role the White King played in each.

White King's wins tend to come in clusters when the stacks connect, with quieter spins in between. Seeing a few hundred spins in the demo gives you a fair idea of that rhythm.

Who should try it

If you like stacked symbols and a theme that's a bit more elegant than the usual jungle romp, White King deserves a session. The same game is available for real money at the casinos below.
