Dolphin's Pearl: a dolphin that doubles, a pearl that triples

Under the waves with nine lines

Dolphin's Pearl dates from the era when a slot was judged by how well its features fitted on one paytable screen. Five reels, three rows, nine paylines. Lobsters, rays, fish and seahorses sit above the card symbols, and the dolphin swims over all of them.

The dolphin doubles

The dolphin is the wild. It replaces every symbol except the scatter, and when it helps to complete a line, that win is doubled. Five dolphins on a line also pay on their own and are the top regular prize on the reels. In practice the doubling is what you notice most: a modest line of fish becomes a noticeably better one with a dolphin in the middle.

The pearl and the tripled free games

The pearl in its open shell is the scatter. Three or more anywhere give 15 free games, and every win during them is tripled. If the dolphin joins a line during free games, the doubling and tripling combine, which is where the game's best moments come from. More pearls during the round add another 15 games.

The classic version uses the same rules as the later Deluxe edition; the main differences are presentation and the number of lines.

Playing the Dolphin's Pearl demo

The demo loads with 1,000 virtual credits, no sign-up and no download, on desktop or phone. The free games can take a while to show up, so plan on 250 to 300 spins at a stake equal to £0.20. Watch two things: how often a dolphin lands on a winning line in the base game, and how a full free games round compares with the stake you put in to reach it.

The gamble feature appears after wins, as in most Novomatic classics. Use it in free play to see the risk, not as a habit. The same game is on offer for real money at the casinos listed below.
