Moonshot: name your height and launch

Cosmo is a ginger tabby in a white spacesuit, brass goggles pushed up on his helmet and a red scarf streaming behind him. On the poster he winks and points at you while surfing a gold-trimmed rocket past a huge full moon. In the game he lights the fuse. The one decision in Moonshot

Everything comes down to a single number: your target multiplier. Set it anywhere from 1.01× up to 1,000,000×. Alternatively, type in the win chance you want, and the target adjusts to match – the two are linked, so moving one moves the other. Your target appears as a glowing ring in the sky.

Press Bet. The rocket launches, climbs and stops on a random multiplier. If it stops on your target or anywhere above it, you win your bet multiplied by the target. If it stops below, the bet is lost. There is no cash-out button to time and nothing to steer: the result is drawn when you bet and the flight simply shows it. That is the main difference from a classic crash game, where you watch a curve and press to collect.

Low targets, high targets

Low targets such as 1.5× or 2× hit often and pay little. High ones hit rarely and pay a lot. A target of 1,000,000× is there for the screenshot rather than for planning. The demo is ideal for feeling out that trade-off, because you can try a hundred shots at 2× and a hundred at 50× with play money and see how differently the balance moves. Keep an eye on the profit-on-win figure under the bet field, which tells you exactly what a hit would pay.

Auto mode and stop rules

The Auto tab repeats the same shot for you. You choose:

• the number of bets, or 0 to keep going until you stop it;
• what happens to the bet after a win and after a loss – reset to the base bet, or increase by a percentage you set;
• optional limits to stop on a given profit or a given loss.

These settings are worth testing in the free version first. Increasing the bet after each loss can look clever for twenty rounds and very different after two hundred. Seeing it happen with virtual credits is the cheapest lesson there is.

The Fairness panel

Moonshot has a Fairness panel that shows the active server seed in hashed form, your client seed (which you can change) and a nonce counting the bets on that pair. When you rotate the pair, the previous server seed is revealed, so past rounds can be checked. You do not need any of this to play, but it is there if you like to look under the bonnet.

Quick notes for the demo

Rounds take a couple of seconds each, so the free crash game format suits short sessions on a phone. The layout keeps the bet, target and win-chance fields in one block, which makes switching between manual and auto easy on a small screen. There is no bonus buy and no feature to trigger: just the target and the launch.
