Ultra Hot Deluxe: sevens, bars and a nine-square screen

A different flavour of classic

Open Ultra Hot Deluxe and the first thing you notice is what is missing. No cherries, no lemons, no plums. Greentube built this three-reel game around the old symbols of the slot hall: red sevens, single, double and triple bars, stars and a few other gems, all on a dark, glowing background. The grid is three reels by three rows, with five fixed lines.

It is a game of short, sharp spins. There is no bonus round, no free spins and no wild. Each result is final the moment the reels stop, and the next spin is a tap away.

What to look for on the reels

Sevens are the top symbols, and a row of them is the result players hope for. Bars and stars sit in the middle of the paytable. Because the screen is only nine squares, it is not unusual for one symbol to cover most of it, and those spins pay across several lines at once.

As in most Greentube classics, every win can be gambled on the colour of a card. Guess right and the amount doubles; guess wrong and it is gone. The feature turns a quiet game into something more nervy, so it is worth understanding before you play for money.

Getting the most from the Ultra Hot Deluxe demo

You get 1,000 virtual credits, no download and no sign-up. Set a small stake, equivalent to £0.05 or £0.10, and run 300 spins. Keep an eye on three things:

• how often a win of any size appears;
• how many spins pass between results that involve sevens;
• how your balance behaves if you gamble every win once.

That will show you whether the stripped-back format suits you.

Always Hot or Ultra Hot?
