Gorilla: deep in the rainforest with the silverback

Into the jungle

The first thing you hear in Gorilla is the jungle: birds, drums and the occasional heavy footstep. The reels are set among thick foliage, and the symbols include the gorilla himself alongside other rainforest creatures and the usual card values. It is a straightforward video slot with five reels and fixed lines, in the clean style Greentube uses across its catalogue.

How the game works

Gorilla is built around line wins in the base game and a bonus round set off by special symbols. The gorilla is the symbol to watch, as the premium icon of the game. For the precise rules, such as what triggers the free games, how many you receive and whether any symbol expands or substitutes, open the paytable from the game menu. It is the most reliable way to know what the version in front of you does.

The pace is steady rather than frantic. Spins are short, wins are counted up with a satisfying sound, and you can gamble any win on a card colour if you want a bit more tension.

A useful demo routine

The Gorilla demo comes with 1,000 virtual credits, no account and no download. Try this:

• spend a minute on the paytable so you know which symbols matter;
• play 300 spins at a stake equivalent to £0.10 or £0.20;
• note each bonus round: how long it took to arrive and what it returned.

You will come away with a fair sense of how often the game gives you something to cheer about, which is worth more than any description.

Who is it for?
