Power Stars: fruit, sevens and stars that earn a respin

A fruit slot with one clever twist

Power Stars uses the classic Greentube fruit set: cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes, watermelons, bells and lucky sevens, all on five reels and three rows with ten lines. If that were all, it would be one fruit game among many. What sets it apart is the star.

How the stars work

Star wilds can appear on the middle reels. When one lands, it fills its reel, stays put, and the remaining reels spin again for free. With the star holding its place, each respin has a good chance of linking up line wins through it, and if another star appears on a different middle reel, it joins in.

That is the whole feature, and it is enough. There are no free spins rounds to wait for; the excitement comes in short bursts during normal play, which gives the game a lively rhythm compared with most fruit slots.

As ever with Greentube’s classics, you can also gamble any win on the colour of a card. It is optional, and worth testing separately from the stars.

Trying the Power Stars demo

With 1,000 virtual credits, no sign-up and no download, you have plenty of room to learn the game. Some pointers:

• play 300 spins at a stake equivalent to £0.10;
• count how many star respins you get and how many of them paid;
• note whether two stars together made a real difference to the result.

You will soon see that most respins pay something modest, and that the big moments come when several stars stack up.

A good bridge between old and new

Power Stars suits players who like fruit machines but want something to happen more often, without having to learn a complicated set of rules. Play Power Stars free here; the same game is available for real money at the casinos below.
