Comet Bingo: 90-ball bingo under a snowy sky

Snow on the dome of an old observatory, lamp-posts glowing in the dark, and a round-faced seal pup in a navy cap and a starry scarf, holding a blue crystal star as if it had just fallen out of the sky. That is the poster for Comet Bingo, and it sets the tone: cosy, a little whimsical, very British-winter. Underneath, Nocturn Play has built a solo version of classic 90-ball bingo that you can play free, with no download and no sign-up.

Tickets, comets and the four prizes

You play one to four tickets at a time. Each is the familiar 3×9 grid with fifteen numbers. Choose a ticket price, the number of tickets, then press Launch: the armillary sphere sends out 45 comets numbered 1 to 90, one after another, and each flies to its number and marks it on every ticket that has it. There is no one else in the game, so a full round takes well under a minute.

Each ticket can win one of four prizes, and it pays its best one:

• Four corners – 1× the ticket price.
• One line – 3×.
• Two lines – 25×.
• Full House – all fifteen numbers, up to 2,000×.

Prizes from all your tickets add up. When a ticket is one number away, it flashes "One number to go!", which is a nice touch when you are playing four at once.

Why a quick Full House matters

The Full House is not a fixed prize. The sooner it arrives, the more it pays. Complete a ticket within the first 40 comets and you get the maximum of 2,000× the ticket price. Between 41 and 43 comets it drops to 1,000×, and on comets 44 or 45 it pays 500×. A counter marked "Full House now" shows the current value as the comets fall, so you always know what is at stake on the last few numbers.

The Great Comet

Every so often a golden comet crosses the sky mid-game. It lights three neighbouring numbers in one row of each of your tickets and multiplies every prize of that round by 2, 3 or 5. A Great Comet early in a game can turn a modest two-line ticket into a very good result. The cap stays at 2,000× the ticket price per ticket, multiplier included. Autoplay can be set to stop when a Great Comet appears, which is the easiest way to catch it in action during a long demo session.

How to approach free bingo in the demo

Comet Bingo has no bonus buy, so the demo is mostly about rhythm and ticket count. Try twenty games with a single ticket, then twenty with four at a quarter of the price. The total stake is similar, but four tickets give more chances at corners and lines, while a single ticket concentrates everything on one Full House. Remember that each game is independent: the numbers on your tickets and earlier draws change nothing. The New tickets button deals a fresh set whenever you like.

Turbo speeds up the comets once you know the layout, and the observatory scales down neatly to a phone screen.

The demo runs on virtual credits only. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
