Royal Unicorn: a fairy-tale forest from Amatic

Soft colours, simple structure

Royal Unicorn is the sort of slot you notice for its mood before anything else. Pale blues and greens, a misty enchanted forest and the white unicorn in pride of place give it a fairy-tale feel that is quite different from Amatic's burning fruit or dusty tombs. The supporting symbols carry the same storybook theme, with the card ranks taking care of the lower wins.

Behind the decoration sits a classic video slot layout with paylines, so it's easy to follow even if you only glance at the screen between spins.

Features to know about

The unicorn is the symbol that matters most. The free games feature is the other key element; the paytable explains how it is triggered and how many spins it awards. As with almost every Amatic slot, you also have the option to gamble a win on the colour of a playing card.

That's about it, and that's the point. Royal Unicorn is a gentle game where the free games provide the high points and the base game keeps things ticking over.

Royal Unicorn demo: how to play it

You get 1,000 virtual credits and don't need to register or download anything. Settle on a stake, perhaps £0.10 or £0.20 equivalent, and play 250 spins. Watch how often the unicorn appears and whether it tends to show up alone or in groups; then compare that with what you see during the free games.

If you're new to slots in general, this is a pleasant game to learn the basics on: paylines, scatters, a feature and an optional gamble, without anything complicated layered on top.

Who will enjoy it

Players who prefer a calm atmosphere and a fantasy theme over loud, busy screens. Works well on mobile in short sessions. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
