Wild Shark: Amatic heads under the waves

Under the surface

Blue water, shafts of light, coral reefs and shoals of fish: Wild Shark is one of Amatic's brightest-looking games. The higher-paying symbols are sea creatures such as turtles, octopuses and tropical fish, with treasure thrown in, while the card ranks handle the smaller wins. The shark, as the title suggests, is the star.

He's linked to the wild function, which is why players keep an eye on where he lands. How exactly the wild behaves is set out in the paytable, and it's the first thing to check when you open the game.

Free games and the base game

Like most Amatic video slots, Wild Shark has a free games feature in addition to line wins. The trigger and the number of spins are described on the info screen. During the base game, wins come from lines and wild substitutions, and the card gamble is offered after a win if you want to try doubling it.

The overall feel is lively: animations play when the shark appears, and wins are announced with a splash rather than a beep.

Getting to know Wild Shark in demo mode

The demo gives you 1,000 virtual credits and no account is needed. Pick a stake and play 250 to 300 spins without changing it. Two questions to answer: how often does the shark actually turn a losing spin into a win, and how long do you wait for the free games? Your answers are a better guide than any description, because they show you the game's rhythm at your own pace.

Switch to autoplay for a stretch and see whether the game holds your attention without you clicking. Some slots do; some don't.

Should you try it?

If you like sea themes and a video slot with a clear star symbol, yes. It's colourful, easy to follow and runs well on phones. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
