Wild West Gold: sheriffs, outlaws and wilds that hold their ground

A frontier town bakes in the late sun, and the reels fill with sheriffs, outlaws and the tools of their trade. Pragmatic Play gave Wild West Gold a tidy, readable structure and a bonus built around one idea: wilds that stay. The Wild West Gold demo starts you with 1,000 virtual credits, no sign-up and no download.

Forty lines on a taller grid

The game uses five reels with four rows and forty fixed paylines, so wins come along quite regularly. Card royals form the low tier; the western characters and their gear make up the higher symbols. The wild appears on reels two to five and carries a multiplier. If several multiplier wilds take part in the same line, their values are multiplied together rather than added, which can turn an average line into something much bigger.

Free spins with sticky wilds

The sheriff's star is the scatter. Land enough of them and the free spins start. During the round every wild that lands sticks to its position, multiplier included, until the last spin. With forty lines crossing the grid, a sticky wild on reel two or three touches many combinations, and two or three of them can make the late spins very lively. A bonus with no early wilds, on the other hand, can end quietly.

How to use the free play

• Plan for at least 200 spins: the bonus can take a while, and the base game wins are frequent but modest.
• When two wilds share a line, check the payout to see the multiplication at work.
• In the free spins, note how many wilds are stuck after five spins; it is a good predictor of how the round ends.
