Starlight Christmas: the princess swaps the stars for snowflakes

Christmas lights, a snowy sky and a princess dressed for the season: Starlight Christmas is Pragmatic Play's holiday version of Starlight Princess. Load the Starlight Christmas demo and you get 1,000 virtual credits, no account and nothing to download.

Familiar rules on a six-by-five grid

If you know the original, the rules will feel like home. Wins need eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the six-by-five grid, there are no paylines, and winning symbols are cleared so that new ones can tumble in. Gems make up the low end of the paytable, while festive versions of the premium symbols take the top spots.

Multiplier symbols can drop in on any spin. They wait until the tumble sequence ends, then add together and multiply that sequence's win. If the sequence produced nothing, they vanish without effect.

What the Christmas edition changes

The changes are mostly visual and musical: a winter palette, seasonal symbols and decorations, and a cheerier soundtrack. The free spins work as in Starlight Princess, starting with four or more scatters and building a total multiplier from every multiplier that hits a win, carried through to the end of the round. So the choice between the two is largely about mood, and nothing stops you opening both demos side by side to compare. If you play long sessions around the holidays, this one at least looks the part.

Getting the most from the free play

• Plan for 150 spins or more: free spins rarely come within the first fifty.
• Count base game multipliers that land on winning tumbles compared with those wasted.
• During the bonus, note when the running multiplier first moves; early growth makes a big difference.

The Starlight Christmas slot plays well on mobile, and the free play mirrors the real-money version in every feature. When you want to play for real, the casinos below carry it.
