Glorious Rome slot: try it free before anything else

Among the older entries in the Pragmatic Play back catalogue, Glorious Rome sits quietly next to the studio's better-known hits. It does not have the cult following of the tumbling titles, so this page sticks to what you can see and test for yourself rather than repeating claims about features. Open the Glorious Rome demo, and you get 1,000 virtual credits, no download and no sign-up.

What is on the reels

The theme is classic imperial Rome: soldiers, helmets, chariots and gold coin imagery set against stone and red cloth, with the card-style symbols filling the lower part of the paytable. Spins are quick and the layout is easy to read, which suits players who prefer a traditional line slot to the newer grid formats. Before your first spin, open the information screen: it shows the number of lines, which symbol acts as the wild, which one triggers the bonus round, and how the bonus plays out in this version.

A sensible way to try Glorious Rome free play

Older line slots tend to show their character slowly, so give it time. A good routine is:

• play 100 spins at a fixed small stake, the equivalent of £0.20 or so;
• note how often a win of any size lands, and how often it covers the stake;
• watch for the bonus trigger and how long it takes to appear;
• if it shows up, compare what it paid against the credits spent reaching it.

That gives you a far better picture than any description, and it costs nothing.

Who will enjoy it

If you like Roman settings and a steady, uncomplicated pace, it is worth a session. If you prefer cascades and building multipliers, the studio's newer titles will suit you better. Either way, play Glorious Rome free first; the same game is available for real money at the casinos below.
