Chilli Heat: money bags, respins and a fiesta soundtrack

A sombrero, a pair of maracas, a guitar and a pile of red chillies under a string of bunting – Chilli Heat leans all the way into its Mexican fiesta theme. Under the decoration sits one of the early Pragmatic Play money respin games, and that feature is what keeps people coming back. This Chilli Heat demo runs on 1,000 virtual credits, with no sign-up and no download.

The regular reels

The base game is a five-reel, three-row slot with fixed paylines. The fiesta symbols pay the most, the card ranks fill the gaps and a wild substitutes to complete lines. You will also notice money bags landing with values printed on them. On their own in the base game they do nothing much, but they are counted on every spin.

The Money Respin feature

Land enough money bags in a single spin and the Money Respin begins. The bags lock in place, everything else clears and you get a small number of respins. Each new bag that lands sticks and resets the respin count, so the round keeps going as long as bags keep dropping. When the respins run out, all the values on screen are added together and paid.

Some bags show a jackpot label rather than a cash amount. Filling the entire grid is the big target of the feature, and the further a round gets, the tenser each respin becomes.

How to approach Chilli Heat free play

The respin feature can be slow to arrive, so play Chilli Heat free for 250 to 300 spins at a fixed stake. Each time the feature starts, note how many bags you began with and how many you finished with. You will soon see that the starting count matters, and that rounds which survive the first two or three respins often go on to fill a good part of the grid.
