Book of Tut: John Hunter in the boy king’s tomb

An adventurer you might recognise

John Hunter turns up in several Pragmatic Play slots, from jungle temples to treasure hunts, and Book of Tut sends him into Tutankhamun's burial chamber. The reels are lined with gold masks, canopic jars, scarabs and the explorer himself, the symbol worth the most when he lines up.

The structure is classic book slot: five reels, three rows and ten paylines. The book substitutes for other symbols as a wild, and enough of them anywhere on the screen act as scatters and award free spins.

The expanding symbol in free spins

Before the bonus begins, one symbol is picked to be the special expanding symbol. When it lands on enough reels to form a win during the free spins, it grows to fill those reels and pays across the lines. That turns an ordinary symbol into the star of the round. Hunter himself as the chosen symbol is the outcome everyone hopes for; a ten or a jack covering three reels is more typical.

Landing more books in the bonus can add spins, so a slow start doesn't always mean a short round.

Testing Book of Tut in free play

The demo loads with 1,000 virtual credits and needs no sign-up. Book slots reward patience, so set a stake equivalent to £0.50, play 200 spins and resist the urge to change it. Keep track of how many spins pass between bonuses and which symbol was picked each time. After a few rounds you'll see how much the result depends on that single draw.

There's no bonus buy in this version, so the free spins arrive only through the scatters. If you enjoy the John Hunter character, Book of Tut Respin offers a different take on the same tomb, and the original runs for real money at the casinos below.
