Polar Fox: a quiet slot from the far north

Cold colours, warm welcome

After so many slots built on gold and treasure, Polar Fox is a change of temperature. Its reels show Arctic wildlife and scenery in icy blues and whites, with the fox itself as the star. The effect is restful rather than loud, and it is one of those games people tend to pick for the atmosphere as much as for the features.

The format is the classic Novomatic one, five reels and three rows with fixed lines, and the interface is identical to the studio's other games.

The features in outline

Polar Fox follows the studio's familiar recipe: a wild to complete paylines and a scatter that launches free games when enough land anywhere on the reels. The help screen explains the specific rules, including the number of free games and any multiplier. It is worth a look before the demo session starts, so you know what a good round should look like when it arrives.

Getting to know the Polar Fox demo

The demo gives you 1,000 virtual credits and runs without sign-up or download. Calm themes can make it easy to spin on autopilot, so set yourself a plan: 200 spins at a stake equal to £0.20, with a note each time the free games arrive and what they pay. At the end, look at the balance. Did the base game hold up between bonuses, or did the round have to do all the work?

That answer tells you more about the game than the theme does. A slot can look peaceful and still swing quite hard.

Gamble and where to play

As with most Novomatic classics, wins can be risked on the card gamble, double or nothing. Try it a few times here first. Polar Fox suits players who want a slower, more soothing session. The same game is available for real money at the casinos listed below.
