Crystal Ball: a fortune teller's take on the book formula

Same structure, different magic

Crystal Ball is often described as Gamomat's book slot without a book, and that's a fair summary. The reels are set in a candle-lit fortune teller's parlour, with the seer herself as the premium symbol, surrounded by an owl, a pocket watch, a mysterious amulet and the card ranks. The colours are deep purples and golds, and the glowing ball pulses whenever it lands.

Five reels and three rows, with a selectable number of lines, so you can adjust the cost of a spin.

The crystal ball and the free games

The crystal ball is both wild and scatter. Three or more anywhere on the reels open the free games. Before they start, a symbol is chosen at random to become the expanding symbol. Whenever it appears on enough reels to pay, it fills those reels completely and pays on all active lines, adjacent or not. Landing more crystal balls during the feature can extend it.

If you know Ramses Book, the rhythm will be immediately familiar: patient base game, then a feature that can swing a session either way depending on the chosen symbol.

Crystal Ball free play: a test plan

The demo comes with 1,000 virtual credits and no sign-up. Play all lines at a small stake, around £0.10 or £0.20 equivalent, for 300 spins. Write down the spins between features and the symbol picked each time. Three or four rounds will show you the range between a disappointing feature and a good one.

It's also worth trying the gamble options once or twice after a small win, simply to understand how they work before you'd ever consider them with real money.

Who will like it

Players who enjoy the book format but want a moodier, more mystical setting. Crystal Ball has a loyal following for exactly that reason, and it also exists in Red Hot Firepot and Golden Nights versions. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
