Hot 27: a three-reel fruit machine that pays 27 ways

Small grid, more connections than it looks

Three-reel slots usually mean a handful of lines and very little going on. Hot 27 is different in one respect: instead of lines, it uses ways. Any matching symbol on reels one, two and three pays regardless of which row it lands in, giving 3 × 3 × 3, or 27, possible paths.

The symbol set is Amatic's hot fruit collection, with cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes, melons and the flaming seven. Because there are only three reels, every win is a three-of-a-kind, and the paytable is short enough to memorise in a minute.

What makes a good spin

The best results come from stacks. If one fruit fills a whole reel and appears on the next two, the paths multiply quickly, and three full reels of the same symbol is the dream outcome. Single symbols scattered across rows still connect, which keeps small wins ticking over.

There's a scatter that pays anywhere and the familiar card gamble after wins. No free spins, no bonus game.

How to approach the Hot 27 demo

Load the game with 1,000 virtual credits; no download or account is required. Spins are quick, so it's easy to rattle through 200 in a few minutes. Instead of chasing a number, pay attention to how frequently stacked symbols appear and what they pay at your chosen stake, perhaps the equivalent of £0.10 or £0.20.

If you enjoy it, try Hot 81 straight after. The extra reel adds a fourth step to every combination and changes the rhythm more than you might expect.

The short version

Hot 27 is one of the simplest games in the Amatic catalogue: a fruit machine with a modern ways-to-win twist. Ideal for brief sessions on mobile. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
