Golden Book: a shinier cover on Amatic's book formula

Gold leaf and ancient relics

Golden Book is Amatic's most decorative take on the book format. The reels sit in an ornate gold frame, the symbols glint as they land, and the treasure-hunting theme mixes an adventurer with relics such as a scarab, a statue and an amulet. The card ranks fill the bottom of the paytable, as usual.

Five reels, three rows, and one symbol that does two jobs: the golden book is wild for line wins and scatter for the bonus.

Free games and the expanding symbol

Three or more books start the free games. At that point a random symbol becomes the special one for the round. When it appears on enough reels to form a win, it stretches to cover those reels and pays across every line, wherever it sits. Retriggers are possible if more books show up during the feature.

What makes or breaks a round is the draw. Many features land on a card rank and finish with a steady, modest total; the adventurer or a premium relic can turn a round into the one you talk about afterwards. Patience in the base game is part of the deal.

Getting the most from the Golden Book demo

Free play gives you 1,000 virtual credits with no download or sign-up. Spin at a fixed stake equivalent to around £0.20 and keep a simple tally: spins between features, special symbol drawn, total won in the feature. After four or five bonus rounds you'll have a far better feel for the game than any review can give you.

Try the gamble a couple of times too. It's tempting after a small win, and seeing how it behaves with virtual money is the sensible way to learn.

Who should try it

Golden Book suits players who want the standard book experience with a bit more sparkle. Mechanically there's nothing new, which some will see as a strength. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
