Eye of Ra: Amatic's sun-god slot, tested in demo

Egypt without the book

Amatic has made plenty of Egyptian book slots, so Eye of Ra stands out simply by not being one. The symbol at the centre of the game is the stylised eye of Ra, the sun god, surrounded by golden statues, scarabs, pharaonic headdresses and the usual card ranks. The colour scheme leans towards sunset orange and deep blue, which makes the reels feel warmer than the sandy beige of most desert slots.

The eye is the symbol to learn first. Its role in triggering the free games, and anything special it does during them, is set out in the paytable.

How a session feels

The base game works on paylines across the reels, with wins coming from the Egyptian symbols and cards. After a win, Amatic's red-or-black card gamble is available. The real interest is the free games feature, which is where the game hands out its more memorable results. The info screen tells you how many spins you receive and how the round works.

Because the feature is the focus, expect quieter stretches in between, which is standard for this kind of slot.

Eye of Ra free play: a simple plan

Open the demo with 1,000 virtual credits; no account or download needed. Set a stake around £0.20 equivalent and play 300 spins, writing down when the feature triggers and how much each round returns. If you've played Amatic's book games, compare the experience: is the gap between features shorter or longer, and do the rounds feel bigger or more consistent?

That comparison is the most useful thing a demo can give you, and it costs nothing but a few minutes.

Worth a try?
