Dragons 888: three eights and a dragon for luck

The Cantonese word for eight sounds close to the word for prosperity, which is why phone numbers, flats and wedding dates with an eight in them are prized across much of Asia. Dragons 888 packs three of them into its name and adds the dragon, the traditional symbol of power and good fortune. Red and gold dominate the screen, as you would expect. The Dragons 888 demo on this page lets you try it with 1,000 virtual credits, no sign-up needed.

Read the paytable first

Dragons 888 is one of the quieter games in the Pragmatic Play line-up and its details are not widely written about, so start with the information screen inside the game. It shows the paylines, the symbol values and exactly what the dragon and any other special symbols do. Two minutes there will make your first session far more useful.

Play 200 spins at a fixed stake. Note how often the dragon is involved in the bigger wins and how long the quiet stretches last. If you prefer short sessions, split them into four blocks of fifty and check the balance between each: it shows you how quickly things can turn in either direction.

Asian-themed slots and how this one fits

Pragmatic Play has made many games with Chinese luck symbols. Dragons 888 keeps the theme concentrated: few distractions, strong colours and the lucky number front and centre. If you enjoy that style, it is worth comparing with the studio’s other dragon titles in demo mode before choosing one to play for money. The same game is available for real money at the casinos below.
