Reel Rush 2: a grid that opens up with every win

Starting small

Reel Rush 2 does not show you its full size at the start of a spin. Part of the grid is locked, and you begin with a reduced number of ways to win. Every winning spin unlocks more positions and gives you a respin, so a lucky run snowballs: more positions, more ways, more chances for the next win to land. Miss, and the grid resets to its smaller shape.

NetEnt built the sequel around a bakery of sweets and pastel colours rather than the retro fruits of the original. The symbols are cakes, candies and fruit-shaped treats, and the screen is busier and more animated than the first game.

The road to free spins

The chain of respins has a destination. If you manage to unlock the whole grid, the game moves into free spins played on the fully opened reels, with every way available from the first spin. That climb is the heart of Reel Rush 2: you are always counting how many more wins you need.

The sequel adds extra features on top of the respin chain. Rather than guess at them, open the paytable: it explains what can join the free spins and how the wild behaves on the expanded grid.

How to test Reel Rush 2 for free

The demo opens with 1,000 virtual credits, no sign-up, no download. Respin chains are hard to judge in a few spins, so:

• Play 200 spins at a stake equivalent to £0.20 and count how often you get past two respins.
• Note how many times the grid opened fully and what the free spins returned.
• Turn turbo off at first; the unlocking animation shows you exactly which positions open.

For whom?

Players who enjoy a sense of progress within each spin will like Reel Rush 2. If you prefer the clean lines of a classic five-reel slot, it may feel hectic. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
