Extra Stars: a fruit slot built around its scatter

Stars first, fruit second

Most classic fruit slots revolve around the top line symbol. Extra Stars shifts the attention to its scatter. Stars can land on any reel, need no payline, and pay from three upwards, so a spin with no matching fruit on a line can still return something. The rest of the board is the familiar EGT cast: cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes, watermelons and the red seven, set against a cool blue background that feels lighter than the studio’s fire-themed games.

What playing it feels like

Spins are quick and the layout is clean. There are no free spins, no collect features and no bonus wheel. The interest comes from watching two separate things at once: the lines, and how many stars are on screen. When four or five stars show up together, the scatter pay usually beats anything on the lines, and that is the hit players remember.

Because everything resolves on each spin, Extra Stars suits short sessions. You do not need to wait hundreds of spins for a feature, so even a few minutes in the demo give you a fair picture.

Gamble after a win

Every win can be gambled. A card appears face down; call red or black to double the amount, or lose it if you are wrong. It is optional and you can ignore it entirely by collecting straight away.

Play Extra Stars free

The Extra Stars demo gives you 1,000 virtual credits, no account and no download. Spin 200 times at the equivalent of £0.10 a line and keep two tallies: line wins and star wins. At the end, compare the totals. It is a simple exercise, but it shows you exactly where this game’s money comes from.

If you like the idea of scatter-led fruit slots, Shining Crown from the same studio adds a second scatter to the mix. The same game is available for real money at the casinos listed below.
