50 Lions: Aristocrat's savanna on 50 lines

Fifty lines across the plains

The name tells you the structure: 50 Lions, listed in some lobbies as Lions 50, plays on five reels and four rows with 50 fixed paylines. Aristocrat made it in the same family as 50 Dragons, and the two share the same idea of stacked symbols filling whole reels. Here the theme is the African savanna: the lion is the star, joined by a zebra, a rhino, a parrot and card ranks.

With 50 lines and four rows, small wins are frequent. What players look for, though, is a column of lions. When several reels show the same tall stack, the lines multiply and the screen lights up.

The bonus

A scatter symbol opens the free games. The details of the round, including how many spins you receive and how the wild behaves during the feature, are explained in the paytable, which is worth opening before you start: Aristocrat's pokies often look similar on the surface but differ in the small print. In practice the free games are where the stacks have the most impact, because every spin is free and full reels of lions become more likely to line up.

Tips for the 50 Lions demo

Play 50 Lions free with 1,000 virtual credits, no account and no download. Some suggestions:

• Use a stake equivalent to £0.50, which covers all 50 lines at a small coin size.
• Watch for stacked lions on reels one and two. When they appear together, the spin is worth following to the end.
• Reach the free games at least three times before you decide if the game suits you.

50 Lions or 50 Dragons?

Both use the same frame. The choice comes down to theme and symbol set: savanna or Chinese dragons. If you liked one, the other will feel familiar. The same game runs for real money at the casinos below.
