Lights: floating lanterns and multiplier wilds

A quiet night, a busy sky

Lights is set at an Asian lantern festival: a dark blue sky, gentle music and glowing paper lanterns floating up from the bottom of the screen. The reels hold fireflies, lotus flowers and other night-time symbols along with card ranks. The pace is slow and soothing, which makes the moments when the lanterns arrive stand out all the more.

Floating wilds

The lanterns are the game's feature. At random, they rise into view and settle on the reels as wilds, each carrying a multiplier. When one of these wilds is part of a win, the win is multiplied. Several lanterns can land together, which is where the bigger results come from. The base game is mostly quiet small wins; the lanterns are what you wait for.

Free spins under the lanterns

Scatter symbols start the free spins. In the bonus, the floating wilds become a regular part of the round rather than an occasional surprise, so the free spins are where Lights shows its full range. The exact number of spins and the multipliers on offer are listed in the paytable.

Using the Lights demo

You can play Lights free with 1,000 virtual credits, without registration or download. To get a real feel for the game:

• Play 200 spins at a stake equivalent to £0.20 and note each time the lanterns appear.
• Record the multiplier on each floating wild and whether it landed on a winning line.
• Reach free spins at least twice and compare how many lanterns arrived in each round.

It is a game where patience is rewarded in the demo, because the lanterns can stay away for a while. Once you've seen how they behave, you will know whether the calm stretches bother you.

Lights suits players who like a relaxed atmosphere with the occasional big moment. The same game is available for real money at the casinos below.
