Mainama slots, free in demo

Mainama is a small studio, and its catalogue reads like a collection of picture books. Fairy tales, legends and cartoon crooks sit next to a few straightforward fruit and seven machines. The games are not built around complex mechanics; their appeal is in the themes and the steady rhythm of play. All thirty-one Mainama demo slots here open with 1,000 virtual credits, without an account.

Fairy tales and legends

The storybook side is the heart of the list. Gates Of Avalon draws on Arthurian myth, The Wizard of Oz and Emerald City head down the yellow brick road, and Snow White borrows from the Brothers Grimm. Salem Coven brings witches, Story Of The Sphinx and Maya Treasure go looking for ancient riches, and Treasure Island sets sail with pirates. These games tend to use a scatter to open their bonus and a wild that stands in for other symbols, so the pay table is quick to read.

Cartoon crooks and animals

Mainama clearly enjoys its comic characters. Cooly Gangs and Cooly Gangs 2 follow a band of cartoon gangsters, Prison Break plans an escape, and Hares Revenge and Wolf vs Hare play out a rivalry between two old enemies. Swamp Land 2, Swamp Land HD, Savanna Queen and Beauty Dolphins move the action outdoors. Comparing a game with its sequel, such as Cooly Gangs with Cooly Gangs 2, is a good way to see how the studio develops an idea.

Fruit and sevens

For something simpler, Hot Sevens and Hot Sevens Deluxe, Pepper 7, Hit Jewels and Bananas keep close to classic symbols. Money, Golden Harvest and Lucky Drink round out the lighter side of the list.

How to test Mainama in demo

Since the appeal of these games lies so much in their themes, it is worth letting the artwork guide your first choices. Pick the two or three stories that catch your eye, then look at how each one pays: the frequency of small wins, how the bonus is triggered and what it adds. That is where games with similar looks start to differ.

• Open the information screen first to see how each bonus is triggered.
• Play around 100 spins per game, enough to see the base game rhythm and, with luck, a bonus.
• Compare Hot Sevens with Hot Sevens Deluxe at the same stake.

These Mainama free slots run in the browser on phone and desktop. The real-money versions are available at the casinos below.
